Rob Pelinka made it clear recently that the organization was looking for ways
to upgrade its roster ahead of the playoffs, so it is a move that would certai
nly make sense.
Los Angeles came into the season with two major weaknesses to address: point g
uard and shooting.
Rose would check off one of those two boxes.

In a recent column, Complex agreed that this was a good move for the Lakers to
make.
“Not only has D Rose played with LeBron before, but he’s currently putting u
p over 15 PPG and six assists a night for a pretty bad Detroit Pistons team,”
the article noted.
“Rose is also playing on a fairly cheap deal, so it wouldn’t be much of an i
nvestment for the Lakers to add the former MVP.”
The Lakers currently sit atop the Western Conference with a 26-7 record, but h
ave struggled against a lot of the top-tier competition they’ve faced like th
e Los Angeles Clippers.
