Q:Longtime reader, even longer-term seasons ticket holder. Would it had made a
difference in the outcome of the NBA Finals if we added Jrue Holiday and
subtracted Tyler Herro from the team,? My thought is a hard no. I like
Holiday and think he would fit in on our team nicely. But you do not trade a
20-year-old for a 30-year-old unless that player is a superstar (i.e., Kevin
Durant, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo or Kawhi Leonard). We literally
just went to the Finals with this roster and finished within two games of the
trophy. I would like to take a page out of the San Antonio playbook and
instead of building this team for the next three years, build it for the next
decade, which means we don’t part with our young core, we add in free
agency. After all, we just proved how this mix of veterans and younger
players meshed so well. You’re thoughts please.
