Choose to answer any 3 of the following question
1. Explain Jesus' teaching, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst
of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
How can one be at once as wise as serpents and yet as harmless as doves?
2. Explain the following passage from Jesus' teaching: "Wherefore it they
shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold,
he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh
out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming
of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles
be gathered together."
3. What is the kingdom of God according to the following parable told by
Jesus? "And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed
into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed
should spring and grow up, he knowth not how. For the earth bringeth forth
fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn
in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in
the sickle, because the harvest is come.
4. What is the significance of the coming of Jesus according to the following
passage? "And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine
will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But
new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also
having drunk old wine strightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is
better.
5. What is the Word according to the following passage? "In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in
the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was
not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the
light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not."
