Topic: “Study in the USA: Why and How?”
Issues:
- Overview of UMD, CSPL, and Prof. Ray Liu’s group.
- What are the differences between what you learned/experienced in the States
and in Taiwan?
- How to prepare for yourself (course, curriculum, projects, GRE, etc.) in
undergraduate study while facing the competition from China’s top-notched
students?
- How to stand out when you submit your applications for graduate study?
- Get prepared for advanced RD works in USA: mindset and attitude.

　　這部份討論相當自由，嘉容和我先前試著擬定了一些我們會想提出的問題，順便給有

講者簡介：劉國瑞教授1983年畢業於台大電機系，1990年拿到UCLA的博士學位，目前是美
國馬里蘭大學電機電腦工程學系(Electrical and Computer Engineering Department)的
教授，更擔任IEEE Signal Processing Society的主席。
　　研究方面，劉教授研究的領域相當廣，包括無限通訊網路、多媒體通訊與信號處理、
數位取證（Digital Forensics）、資訊安全、生醫影像與生物資訊、信號處理演算結構
。這些研究成果與心得目前已出版超過10本專書與500篇專業論文。
　　最後學術部在此非常感謝吳安宇教授的熱忱，多虧老師與助理邱小姐的促成，劉國瑞
教授的來訪不只是教授們的學術交流，更能和系上大學部的同學互動。這場座談也感謝我
們的葉丙成老師擔任主持，活動的機會非常難得，敬請大家把握！
