a defensive stalwart who’s a pitch framing expert
1.2. @BryanHoch：The Yankees have acquired C Jose Trevino from
the Texas Rangers in exchange for RHP Albert Abreu and LHP Robert Ahlstrom.
1.2.1 @BryanHoch：Jose Trevino figures to begin the year as the #Yankees'
backup catcher.
Albert Abreu was out of Minor League options ... trading him opens another
bullpen spot for the Banuelos/Gil/Garcia/Marinaccio/Schmidt/Sears group.
1.3. @MaxTGoodman：Jose Trevino, Kyle Higashioka and Ben Rortvedt were all
among the top 30 in Statcast's Catcher Framing Leaderboard last season
(minimum 750 pitches called).
That's a massive organizational upgrade on defense at an incredibly important
position.

in on Montas.
Unclear if Montas will be dealt now as he has two years to go before free

（3）@JonHeyman：Rare Mets-Yankees trade: Miguel Castro for Joely Rodriguez

3.1. @Feinsand：We have a Cashman-Eppler trade! The Yankees have acquired
RHP Miguel Castro from the Mets in exchange for LHP Joely Rodríguez.
3.2. @Joelsherman1：Joely Rodriguez has a $500,000 assignment bonus he gets
for being traded. The #Mets will pay that. Makes it near even salary swap:
Rodriguez base is $2M, plus the $500K is $2.5M. Castro is due $2.62M.
3.3. @BryanHoch：New #Yankees RHP Miguel Castro is coming off a 2021 season
in which he posted career bests in ERA (3.45), HR/9.0IP (0.90) and
H/9.0IP (6.14).
He led all Mets relievers in appearances (69) and innings pitched (70.1).
3.4. @Joelsherman1：Both Castro/Rodriguez can be free agents after season
(Rodriguez only has 2-plus yrs of MLB service, but contract stipulates
he’s FA after 2022). So NYY still has 4 key relievers in walk year:
Castro, Britton, Chapman, Green.
Mets 5: Rodriguez, Diaz, Lugo, May, Ottavino.

The #Yankees proposed a Luke Voit for Chris Paddack trade last month,
but San Diego said no.
In the end, New York sent Voit to the Padres in exchange for pitching
prospect Justin Lange.

outing, Aaron Boone said. All systems go for Game 2 of the regular season.

left-handed depth in their bullpen.
