IOC mourns the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo
國際奧委會悼念日本前首相安倍晉三

It is with great sadness that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has
learnt of the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo.
國際奧委會(IOC)獲悉日本前首相安倍晉三去世的消息,深感悲痛。
IOC President Thomas Bach said: “Japan has lost a great statesman, and the
IOC has lost a valiant supporter and a dear friend of the Olympic Movement.
On behalf of the International Olympic Committee, I would like to extend my
most sincere condolences to his family, his friends and the Japanese people.
國際奧委會主席托馬斯·巴赫說:“日本失去了一位偉大的政治家,國際奧委會失去了一
位英勇的支持者和奧林匹克運動的摯友。我謹代表國際奧委會,向他的家人、朋友和日本
人民表示最誠摯的哀悼。
“Abe Shinzo was a man with a vision, full of determination and boundless
energy to make his vision come true. What I appreciated most about him was
that he was a man of his word.
“安倍晉三是一個有遠見的人,充滿決心和無限的能量來實現他的願景。我最欣賞他的是
,他是一個言出必行的人。
“Only his vision, determination and dependability allowed us to take the
unprecedented decision to postpone the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Without
Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, these Olympic Games would never have happened, and
the Olympic dream of athletes from all around the world would not have come
true. He also wanted to be with us at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, to show
his commitment to the Olympic Movement and the trustful partnership and
friendship which developed over time.”
“只有他的遠見、決心和可靠性,我們才做出了推遲2020年東京奧運會的史無前例的決
定。沒有安倍晉三首相,這些奧運會就不會發生,全世界運動員的奧運夢想也不會實現。
”已經實現了。他還想和我們一起參加2024年巴黎奧運會,以展示他對奧林匹克運動的
承諾以及隨著時間的推移而發展起來的信任夥伴關係和友誼。”
The IOC President concluded: “The entire Olympic Movement and I owe him all
our respect and gratitude. This is why we will forever hold Abe Shinzo in
great honour.”
國際奧委會主席總結道:“整個奧林匹克運動和我都欠他所有的尊重和感激。這就是為什
麼我們將永遠懷有安倍晉三的光榮。”
As a mark of the IOC’s high esteem, the Olympic flag will be flown at
half-mast at Olympic House in Lausanne for three days.
