If you were learning to roller skate, imagining the possibility of falling is
not conducive to grace and balance. When you start to feel the fear of
falling, you tend to focus on that instead of gliding across the floor.
Pretty soon, the fear takes over and the anticipation of getting hurt becomes
worse than actually getting hurt. You may now be focused on the possible
pitfalls or problems of a current endeavor, but that won't help you do your
best. Focus instead on "gliding," and you will glide.
