【學校通知】：大學計畫於下學期在dormitory樓的lobby裝兩台能上網的新電腦install
2 computers。好處1、方便大家access to the internet查收emails、新聞、
assignments等。好處2、在繁忙時，每個學生限用十分鐘each student can use the
computer fo only 10 minutes。
【學生態度】：女生贊成此計畫。理由1、方便學生查資訊provide quick way for her
to check e-mails or send assignments if she forget to do it in her room。比如
，她下樓了才想起給professor發郵或要make an appointment with others，需查一下路
線direction，她就可以很方便地在lobby查到。比跑回她住的四層樓（go all the way
down back to her room）省時省力。理由2、The 10-minute rule is also great，可幫
prevent students from wasting time on the computer to do something
unimportant,like witing assignments，讓其他學生久等。
Task 4
【名詞解釋】：learning transfer學習遷移，人們以前的經驗會對人們以後學習new
skills產生正面positive或負面negative的影響。有兩種learning transfers。
【教授舉例】：第一種：positive learning transfer：教授舉他自己的例子。when he
was a kid學彈鋼琴，養成了只看琴譜music sheet不看琴鍵keys的習慣。後來上高中後他
learned to type很容易，以前彈琴的經驗對他產生了positive影響，他可以只看螢幕
without looking at the keyboard。第二種：negative learning transfer：教授舉他
一大學同學的例子。他同學在大學裡是學theater專業的。在大學裡經常參加stage
performances。He had to speak aloud in order to make the back row listen
clearly。後來他改學movie acting，仍改不了大聲說話的習慣。When he stated to
shoot films還是經常大聲說話。The director asked him not to speak too loud，不
natural。聲音是通過麥克錄下來的，不用喊，用一般音量說話即可。

【學生困難】：女生是一個outdoor explorer club的組織者，計畫在週末去Louis Town
參加一個field trip看一個Cave System，但是Cave System因maintenance而關閉close了
。他們已經訂了車booked bus，車費不能refund，就必須改去其它地方。
【解決方案】：女生自己說出兩個方案：方案1、去同鎮看big waterfall，但是club裡的
好多人已經去過那兒了。方案2、去一個natural museum看exhibition。女生說
exhibition是一個室內活動，is not adventurous擔心大家會失望。
Task 6
【講課要點】：loon birds are water birds live in cold climate in north America
。They have two types of feather to protect them in cold water：Type 1、廓羽
contour feather, which is the outer layer of the birds’ body. This type of
feather keeps the birds dry, it is 緊密packed tightly and 表面還有油oily。油排
isolate水，wich prevents the water going into the body。Type 2、down feather羽
絨, wich保暖keeps the bird warm. It is dense and thick and is made of 軟軟的毛
茸茸soft fluffy material. So it 保溫prevents the heat loosing for the body.

temple不再能conquer帝國
3、財富固定可是稅收增長過快，例：新farmland開發不好，stop growing，但是稅收更
高了農民痛恨政府尋求敵國庇護ask for protection
