Task 1
Which period is the most difficult period in a person’s life? Childhood,
teen-age years s or adulthood? State your choice and explain why. Include
reasons and examples to support your response.
Task 2
Some people prefer to make detailed plans for the future. Others prefer to
concentrate on present things and don't make any plans at all. Which way do
you prefer? Use specific reasons to support your answer.
Task 3
【學生通知】：大學計畫組織the fourth year journalism majors到真正的報社
newspaper實習internship。好處1、可以抵一個大四的課程。
【學生態度】：女生支持。自己也想去。理由1、這個internship有學分。理由2、
journalism majors可以和real editor一起工作。
Task 4
【名詞解釋】：priming effect（啟動效應）：People tend to give perspective
about what they see based on their personal experiences。
【教授舉例】：教授舉了兩個例子：一個女學生坐在公車上正想著以前學生寫作業的生活
，當她看到一個陌生男生上車，坐下來打開書，並在上面寫字，那個女生就認定他一定也
是個學生。另一個女生是個writer，也坐在公車上，她昨天剛寫完a poem或a book of
poetry，當她看到一個陌生男生上車，坐下來打開書，並在上面寫字，那個女生就認定那
個男生一定也是作家或poet。
Task 5
【學生困難】：男生winter break 明天tomorrow早上fly back home and visit family
，因為他的航班太早，得一早去機場go to the airport，坐早上的bus趕不上。不知道搭
什麼去機場。
【解決方案】： 女生給兩個解決方案：方案1、火車train，convenient, fast, cheap。
方案2、Go to the airport by taxi，但是expensive。
Task 6
【講課要點】：女教授講plants的shedding（就是plants drop parts of themselves）
有兩個benefits：Benefit：to prevent damage。舉例：maple tree（楓樹）trees
shed leaves。天一冷，比如fall來了，葉子leaves就掉光了。如果不掉，冬天下雪的時
候，雪可能堆積在maple葉子上變成ice，積累太多了，就會壓斷樹枝break the branches
。
獨立作文：
A/D: Achieving success is not the most important thing in one's life.
Remaining happy and optimistic when you fail is more importants
綜合作文：
是講某個Bay,污染什麼的非常的嚴重，生態不平衡了所以提了一些建議來促進生態。文章
的三個
Reading：
(1)限制捕撈生物;
(2)引進一種Asian oyster來增加oyster的數量;
(3)教育當地農民限制化肥的使用，從而減少污染。
Listening：
(1)如果限制捕撈的話，那麼對專業漁民會有影響;
(2)引進外來Oyster太過於risky, 可能會造成不必要的後果;
(3)河流流域太廣了，不利於執行conduct。
