台南東區東門路二段上有一處翻修後的日式老房子建築物群，前身為
「原台南州立農事試驗場宿舍群」，創設於大正十五年（1923年），
目前為市定古蹟。
整個建築物群共計有五棟，包括場長宿舍、
兩棟丙種判任官舍及兩棟丁種判任官舍。
而台南市政府文化局也將這些日式老房子與日本合作，
成為台日文化交流基地。現階段有日本群馬縣的「水上町交流館」、
「社團法人台南市台日友好交流協會」、「和茶寮」以及納涼屋進駐
本次樂活台南本來是接到水上物語交流館的「日本草木染」活動刊登請求，
但在還沒刊出時竟然就額滿了，也讓站長相當訝異這個地方的活動竟然
如此熱門。後來又被通知活動當天有水上町的水庫咖哩分享會，
於是就在樂活美食團內揪了小團去一起去體驗日式文化的魅力

只見現場不管大人或小孩，都全神貫注在自己手上的草木染作品

我們先來到對面的台日友好交流協會

館內放了很多沒有點上眼睛的不倒翁，是代表日本的吉祥物之一。
據說，群馬縣的高崎市是製作日本不倒翁的發源地。
相傳在幾百年前當地淹了大水，在碓冰川上漂來一根大浮木散發出陣陣芬芳，
在地人嘖嘖稱奇於是就拾起供奉著。
延寶八年（1680年）有一位名號為一了居士的修行者稱說被神明託夢，
要將該浮木雕成達磨大師的雕像，之後達摩外觀的不倒翁傳說就漸漸流傳起來。
而不倒翁為什麼沒點上眼睛呢？依據在地的習俗，
民眾必須購買還未開光點睛的不倒翁，然後再請寺內的高僧點睛祈願，
所以還點上眼睛就是尚未祈福過的不倒翁

但因日人相當著迷火柴，所以還有部分的日人依舊使用著火柴
