臺灣放棄對義大利的主場選擇權
CHINESE TAIPEI FORFEITS CHOICE OF GROUND FOR ITALY TIE
在臺灣請求放棄主場權下，義大利將在 04/22-04/23 承辦兩國的世界二組升降賽對陣。
這項請求已獲得聯邦盃委員會同意。
Italy will host its Fed Cup World Group II play-off with Chinese Taipei on
22-23 April after the latter’s request to forfeit choice of ground was
approved by the Fed Cup Committee
臺灣原本透過抽籤取得主場機會，但在網協提出請求並取得義大利方同意下，
四屆聯邦盃冠軍將取得本次對陣主場。
Chinese Taipei had initially been granted hosting rights for the tie but,
following a request from the Chinese Taipei Tennis Association and an
agreement from the Federazione Italiana Tennis, the tie will now be hosted by
the four-time Fed Cup by BNP Paribas champions.
這可能將是 Schiavone 最後一次聯邦盃出賽，義大利在世界二組首輪敗給斯洛伐克。
義大利可能將是 1997 年以來首度落入亞非一級。
The move could prove fitting for 36-year-old Francesca Schiavone, Italy’s
most successful Fed Cup player in terms of overall wins and singles wins, who
could now play her final Fed Cup tie for her nation in front of home fans.
Schiavone, who earlier this year announced her intention to retire from the
game at the end of 2017, might look to end her Fed Cup career on a winning
note having lost to Rebecca Sramkova in the decisive fourth rubber during
Italy’s 3-2 defeat to Slovakia in the World Group II first round earlier
this month.
The loss put Italy on the brink of dropping into Europe/Africa Zone Group I
for the first time since 1997.
臺灣的這項決定也同時把下次兩國交手的主場一併奉送，增加續留在世界二組的挑戰。
由王思婷帶領的隊伍本月首次世界二組登場，在莫斯科兩日激戰下以 1-4 不敵俄羅斯。
Chinese Taipei’s decision to forfeit choice of ground for the April tie,
which also hands Italy hosting rights the next time the two nations meet,
will steepen their challenge to remain in World Group II.
Shi-Ting Wang’s team contested the World Group II for the first time in
history earlier this month, pushing Russia close before ultimately succumbing
4-1 to the four-time champions in Moscow.

※ 網協來函說明，放棄主場承辦有以下因素考量：
● 同時撞期三太子盃挑戰賽
● 4/22起適逢全國中等學校運動會，裁判人員嚴重不足，國家對抗賽如此高等級賽事必
須聘請高級裁判人員，但多數皆已表示將參與全中運，如此一來勢必影響賽事進行。
● 因 2017 臺北世大運活動，眾多室內場館皆在裝修中，且不對外租借。
● 若考慮移至室外舉辦，依照台灣4月天氣多雨，一但遇雨則嚴重影響賽程進行，更可能
導致延宕，在國際規範中是不能允許的。
● 同一週末內的轉播單位亦為問題之一。
