The captain of a sailboat in the bay may have the sense that he is in control
of navigation when he takes the wheel of that boat. But nature is a powerful
entity and really the sea and the wind are in charge. What the sailor does is
use the rudder, the sails, and the current to go where he wishes to go. In
other words, the sea and the wind are in charge, but he follows and uses
their whims to get where he wants to go. That's exactly what you have to do
now in a situation where you are not in charge. You can still accomplish what
you want to do, and you can do it admirably. It's all about assessing what
are the resources and the limitations that you have, and using and navigating
them well.
