who are all these people
before me
we have shared the same classroom
listened to the same
lectures, done
the same homework
sat the same exams
but i look left and
stranger
i look right
and i don't know her
has a year really gone by
so quickly, so quickly
barely had summer gotten me sweating
than winter came and the sweat froze
the snow falls from the sky
and evaporates before hitting my glasses
blinding me
into a blur of days
(i surface to breathe in that one fine spring morning and dive back in)
hurtling toward that calamitous unknown we call
life
