It ended with polite words
That froze everything into a glacier
And a thousand empty glances.
We never said farewell.
A city seemed destroyed on the other side.
Its clamors resonated with the ice.
My afterthoughts only thickened it.
Then a melody hummed through as well.
Curiosity hardened the ice
and almost turned me into a pillar of salt.
Houses collapsed. Archives decayed. Here.
Did their sounds stumble through as well?
My question echoed in the fjord,
But the rest is frozen in silence.
