Hey everyone, long time, no talk!
I know I’ve been less visible lately as I’ve been working on our latest
fighting games, but I did want to thank you all directly for your support and
share a fond farewell as I depart from Capcom .
The last five years or so have been a blur! When I first came to Capcom, the
only thing on my mind was getting more people to play Capcom fighting games.
From the various Street Fighter games, various Versus games, Darkstalkers,
Rival Schools, to you name it, Capcom fighting games have been a core
component of both my youth and adulthood. In my youth, these games allowed me
to foster friendships through playing with others at my local arcade, which
would not have happened otherwise. In my adulthood, they’ve provided me the
ability to bond with so many people across the world as we share our love for
them. It was these experiences and more that I wanted those unfamiliar with
fighting games to also experience.
Through the releases of our latest and greatest fighters as well as the
creation of the Capcom Pro Tour during my time here, I’m happy to see there
are more people than ever enjoying Capcom fighting games; whether they’re
playing or spectating. I can honestly say that it makes me happy to see the
newer generation of players creating rivalries and friendships, as well as
discussing, analyzing and bonding over these games the same ways I used to
and still do.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work on the games that shaped my life, a
definite dream come true, but now I feel it’s time for the next generation
to be able to do the same. There’s no doubt in my mind that the current
generation has their own unique ideas that will push Capcom’s fighting games
forward in terms of innovation and evolution. I definitely look forward to
seeing those ideas come to fruition in the future.
Although my time at Capcom has come to an end, the interactions and
experiences I’ve had with everyone online and in person easily remain as
some of my most memorable experiences. Thanks to you all for the fond
memories. I now join you all once again as a member of the community and as a
Capcom fan. I’m confident the team here will continue to do great work for
all of us who love not only fighting games, but games in general.
See you guys around!
