Postdoc position in Biostatistics at UCSF
The UCSF Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics - the largest department
of epidemiology in the University of California system in terms of full-time
primary faculty and the number of affiliated faculty - aims to carry out its
educational, scientific, and clinical missions within the highly
interdisciplinary culture of UCSF and to take a transdisciplinary
approach to education and research.
Position Title*
Postdoctoral Researcher in Biostatistics
Duties and Responsibilities*
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Epidemiology &
Biostatistics, University of California at San Francisco.
The postdoc will be mentored by Dr. Chiung-Yu Huang.
The position involves methodological and applied research in
complex event outcomes, with a focus on cancer and transplant studies.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct independent
methodological research including writing peer-reviewed publications
for statistical journals and developing R packages.
The environment is multidisciplinary.
The postdoctoral fellow will also have opportunities to collaborate
with other scientists in the UCSF School of Medicine.
Position Qualifications*
PhD degree in biostatistics or statistics.
The following skills are desirable: excellent methodological training
in statistics; excellent programming skills in R; and excellent written
and oral communication skills.
Salary Range
Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
