The Pirates announced their leadership and staff updates to the baseball operati
ons department Wednesday, formalizing a busy offseason of changes.
The headlining moves include the hiring of Max Kwan as vice president of interna
tional scouting
Kwan is back with the organization after spending a year with the Boras Corporat
ion. During his time as the organization’s assistant director of international
scouting, Kwan helped the Pirates sign players from Asia (Ji Hwan Bae, Tsung Che
-Cheng and Jun-Seok Shim), Africa (David Matoma), San Marino (Alessandro Ercolan
i) and Australia (Brandan Bidois).

韓裴智桓、19年簽台灣鄭宗哲、去年簽下台灣陳柏毓，今年再簽台灣的張弘稜。這與其他專
注發展拉丁美洲的大部分球隊不同
海盜隊副人資長關接受大聯盟官網採訪，指出簽下亞洲球員，其中一個重要原因是拓展小聯
盟人才庫。「我們必須探索每個途徑。」
