New contracts for Academy duo
Fri 1 Jul 2016
Two of our Under-21 players have today (Friday) agreed contract extensions
at the club.
Goalkeeper Bradley Collins was a regular for Adi Viveash's age group last
season and picked up a medal as our Under-19s retained the UEFA Youth
League. His first-half penalty save in the final against Paris
Saint-Germain helped us to a 2-1 victory in Switzerland. The 19-year-old
has agreed a deal until the end of the 2017/18 season.
Alex Kiwomya has also put pen to paper on a new contract, committing
himself to the club for another year. The forward has spent time on loan
at Barnsley and Fleetwood Town in the last two seasons and has won two FA
Youth Cups, a UEFA Youth League and an Under-21 Premier League title
during his time in the Academy.
Today's signings follow on from 10 youngsters penning their scholarship
deals and six Under-18s signing first professional contacts earlier in the
week.
The youngsters travel to Germany next week for a pre-season training camp
that sees the Under-21s take on FC Nurnberg and the youth team face Bayern
Munich. Both games will be played on Sunday 10 July.
