現在有一個疑惑是,雖然知道than當主詞時(即準關係代名詞),
後面的原本的主詞就省略了,但問題在於,我們如何能知道than當準關係代名詞的
時機呢?
譬如上述這句:He worries more than is necessary.
照理講是省略的那個主詞和前面有重複,所以才能省略,那麼以這句來說,重複的
部分的是什麼呢?目前有看到以下兩種說法:
1. He worries more than (he) is necessary (to worry).
2. He worries more than (the worry that) is necessary.
看起來是第一句比較合乎這個原則,he、worry確實都有重複,
可是我比較喜歡第二句的寫法,但第二句的worry前面卻並沒有出現?
