[文法] food 前面的冠詞

修英文寫作課的例句，但忘了老師說什麼
The British are notorious for the amount of øfast food (that) they eat.
^ 請問這裡為什麼不用the?
後面有they eat來修飾food，這樣不是要加the嗎?

修飾的不是food, 是 the amount of fast food...
