在The Gilded Age鍍金年代第3集Face the Music裡，
Ada Brook和姪女Marian Brook去聽演講，
遇到Ada Brook的舊識Cornelius Eckhard III。
Ada: I thought it was you.
Cornelius: I'm afraid it's been too many years
for me to call you Ada?
Marian: But this is too touching.
Ada: Oh, not really.
We knew each other
when we were young in Pennsylvania.
請問Marian說的but在這個情鏡下是作何解呢？
查了字典幾乎都只把but解作轉折，
但這裡不似轉折。
