大家好,今天在 New York Times看到一句話:
Thousands of supporters of Brazil’s former president, Jair Bolsonaro, broke
into government buildings yesterday to protest what they falsely claim was a
stolen election.
請問此句後方的 "what they falsely claim was a stolen election"
為什麼不是寫成: "what they falsely claim to be/as a stolen election"
或是直接把 was 刪除, 變成 “what they falsely claim a stolen election"
這樣原句裡 what 作為插入句,裡頭不就有兩個動詞 claim 和 was
我會這樣理解,是因為類似的句子像是:
"If she wants to learn to do what she calls 'useful things'...
這裡的 what she calls 後面也沒加 are。
不知道該怎麼理解 "what they falsely claim was" 這樣的文法(看起來有2個動詞)?
謝謝
