大概英美當初可能也都猜到翻譯上會有誤差
很好心的幫我們多加了兩個字：Chinese position
來看看這次英國怎麼回的：
...The UK acknowledges the Chinese position that Taiwan is a
province of the People's Republic of China and recognises
the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government
of China...
再來看看美國的三個公報，例如1982年那份(AIT網站有中英版本)：
...the United States of America recognized the Government of
the People's Republic of China as the sole legal Government
of China, and it acknowledged the Chinese position that there
is but one China and Taiwan is part of China...
意思是什麼？很明顯，英美的態度是：「台灣是中國的一省」是你們
中國人說的，拎北聽到了，可是不置可否。
如果英美真的同意台灣是中國的一省，英文大可以直接寫
XXX recognizes that Taiwan is part of China/a province of China
不需要這麼麻煩多加Chinese position這個字，而吵acknowledge和
recognize的翻譯也就沒有意義了，這句換成acknowledge也通。所以
真正的文眼是在Chinese position啊！
