I’ve just written a new lesson at IELTS in Taiwan. It’s to help you prepare
for notes-completion questions in the Listening Module. The lesson is called:
Exercise for the Brain

n-exercise-for-the-brain/
You need to listen to the audio and then complete the notes by filling in the
gaps. In the exam, the notes may be organized under headings, which will act a
s cues when you are listening. So, listen very carefully for the cues (the hea
ding to each section of notes) but remember that those headings will probably
be synonyms and paraphrasing of what you actually hear in the recording. Befor
e the recording starts, familiarize yourself with the questions in each sectio
n of the notes. Try to guess what kind of words are coming. Some of the notes
might already be completed, and these completed notes will give you clues abou
t what to listen for.
