以下為John Sickels對Mathis評論的重要摘錄:
Mathis is second only to Joe Mauer among minor league catching prospects.
Mathis has decent strike zone judement,holds in well against breaking
balls, and hasn't had any serious problems with pro pitching.
Mathis has an excellent work ethic,good leadership skills.
Basically, Mathis is the complete package as catching prospects go,
lacking only speed and a bit of defensive polish.
If you can't get Mauer, Mathis is the next best thing.
