ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Rangers are "doing early reconnaissance
and prep work on what it would take to land Giancarlo Stanton down the
road.
"Well, it would no doubt start with Jurickson Profar. The Marlins
haven't given any indication that they're ready to deal their star, but
Stanton will start to become expensive over the winter when he hits
arbitration for the first time, so it can't be ruled out. Trading Stanton
would likely result in the Marlins losing whatever is left of their fanbase,
but it's not as if owner Jeffrey Loria cares about that. Apr 14 - 8:14 AM
