De Gea - 6
Had very little to do apart from watch one or two free-kicks fly wide of his
post. Needed the odd catch and kick to stay warm.
Valencia - 7
Fast becoming United's key attacking outlet. Will face bigger tests
defensively but good going forward again.
Shaw - 7
Saved United a goal in the first half by out-muscling Robert Snodgrass at the
back post. Defended well all night.
Bailly - 7
Solid at the back but dived in once or twice when he didn't need to. Can be
happy with a clean sheet in challenging conditions.
Blind - 8
Had a good first half, especially in the air as Hull tried to test him
against Abel Hernandez. Had a very good game in difficult conditions.
Fellaini - 7
Walked a tightrope after being booked in the first half but was disciplined
afterwards. Another quietly important performance in midfield.
Pogba - 8
United's best player in the first half when he drove them forward. Quieter
after the break but still covered a lot of ground and looked most likely to
score before Rashford's goal.
Mata - 6
Worked hard on the right but it wasn't a surprise when he was replaced with
Rashford midway through the second half.
Martial - 5
Barely got a kick in the first half and last action was a limp shot that
skidded well wide. Looks tired after a long summer with France.
Rooney - 6
Lucky to stay on when Mourinho brought on Rashford and Mkhitaryan in the
second half but did really well to create the chance for Rashford to score
the winner.
Ibrahimovic - 6
Had two chances to put United in front in the first half. A frustrating
evening when nothing he did seemed to come off.
Substitutes
Mkhitaryan (for Martial, 57) - 7
Injected some much-needed energy.
Rashford (for Mata, 69) - 8
Scored a very late winner and impressed.
Smalling (for Rooney, 90) - N/A
Too late to mark.
Not used: Romero, Young, Schneiderlin, Herrera.

David De Gea - 6
Had little to do throughout, in what is becoming a familiar refrain, due to
the quality of Bailly and Blind.
Antonio Valencia - 7
Overlapped well and cut infield smartly throughout, and was perhaps
unfortunate not to create a goal. Looks utterly rejuvenated, like the player
he was four years ago.
Eric Bailly - 7
Very strong again against a team that had the potential to break well. One
challenge was so strong that the ball sailed from the halfway line and over
to the byline after only a couple of bounces.
Daley Blind - 8
Stepped superbly out from the back, covered across when Shaw went forward,
and looked very comfortable in difficult conditions. A fine showing.
Luke Shaw - 8
He was almost everywhere, even popping up as sweeper twice in the second
half, and in the inside-right position. Controlled his entire flank virtually
by himself.
Paul Pogba - 6
A slow first half but a much-improved second, in which he went close with two
efforts. Increased the tempo considerably.
Marouane Fellaini - 6
Had a poor start but recovered ground well in the second half, shoring up the
midfield and preventing counterattacks.
Juan Mata - 7
Made fine runs off the ball and beat men comfortably on the dribble, though
his teammates did not always seem fully in tune with him.
Wayne Rooney - 7
An unusual performance. He had a poor first half, frequently losing the ball,
and a reasonable second, but then he conjured a wonderful assist for
Rashford's tap-in.
(我本來看比賽一直希望小胖快點換下去...)
Anthony Martial - 5
Was too wide to make an impact, and after a reasonable start he faded by the
time he was substituted. This position may not play to his strengths.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 7
His linkup play was often very strong, and he showed off some spectacular and
productive touches. With better supply, he probably would have decided this
game much earlier.
Substitutes:
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 8
Changed the game immediately with his touch, pace and vision, the highlight
being when he tore through a massed Hull midfield with the ball at his feet.
Made an excellent case for a starting spot.
(Micky真的上場後讓威脅次數變更多了!!! 下場有機會首發嗎??)
Marcus Rashford - 8
Strictly speaking, he was introduced a little after our cutoff point for
ratings, but we need to make an exception for the match winner. Galvanised
his entire team with intelligent movement from the moment he was introduced,
and fully deserved his goal. A truly elite talent.
(拉師傅根本是新世界的神啊!!!!!)
Chris Smalling - N/A
On in injury time for Rooney as Mourinho looked to waste some seconds and
keep it tight.
