Burnley were enterprising in front of the Spaniard's goal but he had little
to do with Eric Bailly in front of him.
Matteo Darmian - 6 (6.4)
The right-footer was back on the left again to allow Ashley Young to offset
the absence of Antonio Valencia on the right. Steady and unspectacular.
Eric Bailly - 8 (8.9)
As Daley Blind struggled against the power and pace of Andre Gray Bailly
didn't. Needs to be wrapped up in cotton wool.
Daley Blind - 4 (6.8)
Gray preyed on his lack of speed and slight frame and Blind looked like what
he is: A left-back playing at centre-back.
Ashley Young - 6 (6.91)
Tireless down the right. His crossing was rarely effective but he
supplemented the attack commendably in Valencia's absence.
Marouane Fellaini - 7 (6.94)
Did the donkey work in midfield to allow Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba to join
in with attacks. Offered good balance.
Ander Herrera - 7 (8.1)
Played the perfect pass for Anthony Martial's opener and mucked in with
Fellaini to shield Bailly and Blind. Indispensable.
Paul Pogba - 7 (7.7)
His good form continued and an enterprising first-half was crowned with a
pivotal ball which led to Wayne Rooney's goal.
Jesse Lingard - 6 (6.5)
Started on the right and then moved to the left. His movement caused Burnley
problems but he needs to do more on the ball.
Anthony Martial - 8 (8.5)
United will have to pay Monaco ￡8.5million more after his first goal in over
two months but it was worth it. Back to his scintillating best.
Wayne Rooney - 6 (7.6)
Will hope the dubious goals panel do not deny him his first in over three
months. Willing in attack but his repositioning was a reminder of his
shortcomings, too.
