Mavericks-Knicks Preview
Tyson Chandler earned the Defensive Player of the Year award, made an
All-Star appearance and aided a pair of winning seasons in his three years
with the New York Knicks.

Those brighter days may seem like ages ago for Knicks fans, though they'll
get to see Chandler back at Madison Square Garden for the first time Tuesday
night when his Dallas Mavericks try to deal New York its sixth straight home
defeat.

After winning an NBA title with Dallas the previous season, Chandler was the
league's top defensive player in 2011-12 while leading New York to a 36-30
record. He continued to thrive alongside Carmelo Anthony in 2012-13, helping
the club win 54 games and earning his first All-Star appearance.

After the Knicks took a step back with a 37-45 record last season, the
7-foot-1 center was shipped in a six-player trade back to the Mavericks. He
finished with 17 points and a season-high 25 rebounds Nov. 26 in a 109-102
overtime victory over visiting New York, which played without Anthony.
去年尼克的戰績退步到37勝45敗，7呎1吋的他在一波六人交易當中被送

Now at least one former teammate expects Chandler will receive a positive
response in his return to the Garden.

"Tyson gave us some good years," forward Amar'e Stoudemire said. "He was a
true pro and he worked (hard). His defensive methods were great, so I think
the crowd will give him a cheer because once you're a Knick, you're always a
Knick. But he does play for Dallas and they might not be cheering him for too
long."

Although the Mavericks (17-8) are averaging an NBA-best 110.0 points,
Chandler hasn't been able to keep them from allowing a league-high 111.4
points in seven games this month.

They've dropped three of five following a 105-98 home loss to NBA-best Golden
State on Saturday, but may be able to get on track defensively against a New
York team that has averaged 91.7 points over its last 10 games.

Knicks.
