Nikola Jokic doesn’t want his Denver Nuggets teammates to visit his home
country of Serbia, and for a good reason.

During his exit interview with the media after the Nuggets lost to the
Portland Trail Blazers in a thrilling Game 7, Jokic said that only teammate
Gary Harris had been to Serbia. However, he pointed out that he doesn’t want
his teammates to visit the country because they might take away the shine
from his wattage.

And @katywinge pointed out that he needs to invite them first.“Yeah, but I
don’t want them to come to be honest. That’s my place. The people love me.
I don’t want someone to come and take my crown.”"

want any of his teammates to “take his crown” in terms of popularity.
Though the Nuggets have a strong young core, it seems unlikely that any
player on the team is more impactful than Jokic — who will likely finish the
season among the top 5 in MVP voting.
