‘F–k Pop:’ Who was cursing out Spurs coach during Raptors parade?
Raptors guard Fred VanVleet captured the Raptors’ 2019 celebration parade by
going live on Instagram. He may have captured something he did not intend.
Just before the camera was turned to Kawhi Leonard, someone insults Spurs
head coach Gregg Popovich.
“It wasn’t like this in SA, huh? F–k Pop.” Laughs ensue before Leonard
joins in saying, “They can’t beat us ‘til we quit.”
Leonard’s final season in San Antonio was steeped in controversy as he sat
out most of it with a quad injury that some in the organization seemed to
question. Leonard, who was traded to the Raptors last offseason, is not the
one making the comment, however.
Instead, social media sleuths believe it was VanVleet or Jeremy Castleberry,
who is Leonard’s longtime friend and now a Raptors assistant.
VanVleet, whose sharpshooting helped the Raptors get past the Warriors in the
NBA Finals, deleted the video from his Instagram.
