同場加眏:
(1) @Yankees: Following last night’s game, the Yankees optioned
INF/OF Franchy Cordero to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees returned from rehab and reinstated
OF Harrison Bader (#22) from the 10-day injured list.
(2) @Yankees: Today, the Yankees transferred the rehab assignment of
C Ben Rortvedt from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
(3) @BryanHoch: Lou Trivino will undergo Tommy John surgery tomorrow in
Los Angeles.
(4) @BryanHoch: Jonathan Loaisiga had surgery today to remove a bone spur from
his right elbow. Everything went as expected, Aaron Boone said.
(5) @BryanHoch: Carlos Rodón’s recovery seems to have stalled. He has thrown
from the mound, but still isn’t feeling right. More medical opinions to come.
“He can’t get over that final hump,” Aaron Boone said.
(6) @BryanHoch: The strange part about the Carlos Rodón situation is that he
is feeling no pain, just stiffness in his back. His elbow and shoulder feel
fine. He just can’t move the way he needs to mechanically. “We’re getting
as many eyes on it as we can,” Aaron Boone said.
(7) @BryanHoch: Revisiting the Yankees' 2022 Trade Deadline pickups:
Andrew Benintendi: Season-ending injury Sept. 2
Scott Effross: Tommy John surgery October '22
Harrison Bader: Missed all of April 2023
Frankie Montas: Shoulder surgery Feb. 2023
Lou Trivino: Tommy John surgery May 3
(8) @BryanHoch: Gerrit Cole is 5-0 with a 1.11 ERA in six starts this season—
the second-lowest ERA by a Yankees SP thru six starts in the Expansion Era
(since 1961) behind Phil Niekro (0.99 in 1984).
8.1. @BryanHoch: Since the start of last season, Gerrit Cole is 5-0 with a 1.91
ERA (7 ER / 33 IP) vs. Cleveland, including a pair of wins in last year’s
ALDS.
(9) @BryanHoch: After July 8, the high water mark of last year (+15.5 games in
AL East), the #Yankees have gone 53-55 in the regular season. (Plus 3-6 in
playoffs)
(10) @BryanHcoh: Harrison Bader: “From my perspective, there’s no walking on
eggshells. I’m fully capable of going out there and playing my brand of
baseball for this team.”
(11) @MaxTGoodman: Domingo Germán is the fifth Yankees pitcher in the last
22 years to throw 8.1 innings and allow three-or-fewer base runners…
He joins:
- Gerrit Cole (4/16/23)
- Corey Kluber (5/19/21)
- Masahiro Tanaka (6/17/19 and 4/27/17)
- Chien-Ming Wang (4/11/08)
(12) @ktsharp: Yankees have only 3 comeback wins this season.
That's tied with the Nationals and Rockies for the fewest in MLB.
(13) @ktsharp: Since April 10, Yankees have scored 3 or fewer runs in 15 games.
That's the most in MLB and 3 more games than any other team in that span.
(14) @ktsharp: Domingo German is the first Yankees pitcher with at least 8 1/3
IP and no complete game since Hiroki Kuroda on October 10, 2012 (ALDS Game 3)
vs Orioles.
(15) @ktsharp: Clay Holmes now has 7 blown saves since the start of last
season.
Only 6 relievers in MLB have more than him in that span.
(16) @ktsharp: That error by Clay Holmes in the 9th inning is his 2nd career
error and first with the Yankees (other was on July 19, 2019)
(17) @ktsharp: After his 3rd inning single, DJ LeMahieu is now hitting .400
(8-20) with RISP this season.
