每年在這時候也都會回顧今年有做什麼特別值得紀念/回憶的事情。
今年看到這個標題，想跟大家分享我的超級尋人計畫。
媽媽年紀越來越大，想帶媽媽出國一直被種種的藉口擋掉，例如吃不習慣、腳痛不想走路
等等。因此今年又提案要帶媽媽去新加坡走一走，不太需要走太多路、飲食也不會差太多
、天氣好又可以講中文。但是媽媽回答我說，她有一個朋友，30年前移民到新加坡去了，
只留下一張照片，

如果去新加坡可以跟她碰面，她才有意願出門。於是就開始了我的尋人計畫。
發揮我當業務時寫過開發信的本領，寫了一封文情並茂的英文信，
Dear XXX,
My sincere greetings from Taiwan and my deepest condolences to the lost of
your late Prime Minister recently. Sorry to write you for trivial matters like
this.
My mom, who's almost 60 years old and diagnosed with cancer a few years back,
luckily survives and keeps fighting that devil to date. She has come to her
sense this year that she would like to get together with some of her best
friends after several of them have passed away during the past few years.
There is one of them that my mom really wants to meet, as you can see the
picture of a lady on the attached. She was a neighbor of ours back while I was
a toddler and she was really close to our family, taking good care of us. She
immigrated to Singapore 30 years ago, left her contact information along with
this picture and a note on the back on the picture. We were literally living
in poverty back then that my mom couldn't imagine her to be able to travel
abroad. So she didn't keep that contact info where we could find it.
We lost it.
So I ask my friends from Singapore and they told me that XXX is one of the
greatest media outlets that I can consult to. And this is why I am writing you
this e-mail, hoping to get some help with your media coverage in Singapore or
probably give me guidance as to where I can go to for this kind of matters.
The only clues that I have are, her name (蕭月桃) as you can see on the
picture and her husband used to work as a chef in Sheraton or Hilton 30 years
ago. That was the main reason that she immigrated there. And she's got two
sons, both are pretty tall and speak fluent English, I've heard.
Again, I appreciate your help to fulfill this simple wish from other part of
the world. If we get to contact her in the near future, I will fly to wherever
you are to say thanks for whomever that has tried to help.

當下搜集了許多新加坡的政府單位、報章雜誌、臉書社團與當地的論壇的聯絡資訊，
都嘗試寫信或是PO文，希望能夠得到一點幫忙。不過各個單位都以隱私的名義拒絕提供
協助。
後來就在今年的七月，有一家新加坡的當地報紙，表示願意無償的幫我寫一個尋人啟事。

後來該位婦女的朋友透過報紙看到他的照片與名字之後，也透過該報社與我聯繫上，今年
的十月，該位女士剛好回台灣省親，就與我母親來了一場1/3世紀後的相聚。

母親想不到這輩子還真的能夠找到她，我們也預計明年能夠去新加坡探訪她，並去該報社
感謝該為幫忙的記者。
趁父母在世，完成他們一些他們想要完成的事情，就是我今年做的最有意義的事了
