申請到 University of Pitts 的 J1 scholar
還要帶老婆 + 2個小孩(9,7歲)一起去
遇到保險問題，想要來請教一下。
我們是8/1正式開始，不過打算 7/10 左右先過去適應兼找房子等
學校回給我們如下
It is fine to wait until you arrive to resolve the health insurance purchase.
Department of State sets the requirement that an individual be covered for
their entire J-1 program dates, but OIS understands that this is not always
feasible especially when the individual will be using University
benefits/UPMC. It is fine to wait until after arriving.
看起來是到時候再去辦保險就好。不過有聽說過海關時會檢查，所以最好先買
7月的保險，才可以過海關。
所以想請問大家，保險都是怎樣處理呢？是在出國前在台灣先買一個月，到正式報到時
再繼續買？還是不需要先買，到8月報到再買就好，不會被海關為難？（當然7月
萬一有醫療需求就麻煩了）。不過想詢問在離開台灣有沒有一定要買？會被海關退貨嗎？
