各位留學板的前輩們您好
上週五(2/18) ASU 的program director 在面談中和我提到會在2/25以前提供我正式面試
的相關資訊更新，由於我在25號沒有收到任何消息，所以我寫了信給director 和PI詢問
近況，結果在不久之前收到了director 寫給我的這封信(為維護個人隱私我已將PI的名字
改成Prof. A)：
We are in the process of making our initial set of offers. Both Prof. A and I
think you are a great fit for ASU but at this time we have limited funding av
ailable. Therefore, we are going to put you on the waitlist for now and if fu
nding arises then we will make you a formal offer. At this point, there is a
possibility that funding will materialize but we will not know about that for
a few more weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions or want to know
where we are in the process then feel free to reach out to us.
I sincerely hope that we can gather the funding and have a chance to recruit y
ou to come to ASU.
由於最後沒有正式的面試就收到這封郵件讓我感到有點驚訝和疑惑，加上這封WL通知的口
氣和我收到的其他WL不太一樣(感覺PI很想收我，而且也沒有直白的表示要我等到4/15以
後)，所以我想問板上的前輩們一些問題：
1. 這樣的內容我該朝正面去解讀嗎？
2. 一般來說WL好像都是要等其他人放棄offer，但是像這樣要取得更多funding 的情況能
成功的機會大不大呢？
3. 除了詢問預計出結果的日期和寫letter of interest 以外，有沒有什麼我可以採取行
動或建議向他們詢問的問題呢？
由於今年是我第一次申請phd program而且身邊也沒有有在美國讀phd的朋友可以詢問，因
此才來這裡詢問各位前輩的建議，希望前輩們可以不吝賜教！
