Fernando Tatis has officially retired
Former major leaguer Fernando Tatis has officially retired from baseball,
according to this report from El Deportista (in Spanish, obviously). Tatis
auditioned for the Orioles in early 2013 but wasn’t able to get a minor
league deal. He spent 2014 with Vaqueros Laguna of the Mexican League. He hit
.241/.348/.367 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 92 plate appearances.
Tatis spent parts of 11 seasons in the major leagues, playing for the
Rangers, Cardinals, Expos, Orioles, and Mets. Over nearly 3,500 plate
appearances, he hit .265/.344/.442 with 113 home runs and 448 RBI.
