福音：瑪五33-37
那時，耶穌對門徒們說：
「你們又一向聽過對古人說：『不可發虛誓！要向上主償還你的誓願！』
我卻對你們說：你們總不可發誓：
不可指天，因為天是天主的寶座；不可指地，因為地是他的腳凳；
不可指耶路撒冷，因為它是大王的城市；
也不可指你的頭發誓，因為你不能使一根頭髮變白或變黑。
你們的話當是：是就說是，非就說非；
其他多餘的便是出於邪惡。」
反省
耶穌今天跟門徒討論第二誡的問題；不可發虛誓。
耶穌的標準是無論如何都不該發誓，發誓就表示可以允許非真理的存在。
耶穌是道路真理及生命，活出真理才能活出天主的肖像；
人如果允許非真理的存在也就是允許說謊者在我的生命中掌權，
即便是善意的謊言也是一樣。
耶穌說不能指著天地與聖殿發誓，也不能指頭發誓，
因為這一切都是天主的不是你的。
聖言一出就創造了天地，人的話也分享了這種創造力，
你不曉得你的一句謊言會延伸出甚麼樣的惡果，那個代價也不是你能承擔的。

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors,
Do not take a false oath,
but make good to the Lord all that you vow.
But I say to you, do not swear at all;
not by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
nor by the earth, for it is his footstool;
nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Do not swear by your head,
for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’
Anything more is from the Evil One.”
