不過網頁裡有他對於過去開發MAME的一些紀錄
看得出他還是很關心有興趣的可看看
Arcade Emulation and MAME
I discovered汢mulation毪ack in 1996, when I encountered a program called嚒tell
a, an emulator for the孭tariꀲ600澵ystem. I contacted the author of嚒tella, an
d asked if I could be in charge of porting it to the Mac. He agreed, and I got
my first taste of working on an emulator.
About a year later, in early 1997, I came across the嗰AME漤roject, and could n
ot believe that the real, original game code for all the arcade games I grew u
p with was running on my home computer. I immediately got involved and ultimat
ely added support for温undreds of new games and dozens of new CPU and sound ch
ips.
I documented some of my early efforts in a set of technical articles called꜊MAME Memories”湶n 2001, reproduced here for posterity. I also kept fairly氽et
ailed logsuntil 2007, listing all my work.
As a side experiment in澵tatic recompilationtechniques, I decided in 2004 to w
rite a standalone emulator for theꀳD淸ameRadikal Bikers, since嗰AME乸t the ti
me was not up to running it at full speed.
In 2005 I took over as the嗰AME漤roject leader. I registered the滟amedev.orgdo
main and created an official website to host our code. I also introduced the u
se ofSubversion沲or version tracking, and I began the gradual migration of the
code from濳oC++.
In 2008 I created a general氽ynamic recompilation汢ngine that supported嗰IPS I
II/IV乸nd嘭owerPC沲ront ends andgenerated code沲or both焏86乸nd焏64processors.
Other developers eventually added support for more front ends, including theꀊSH-2乸nd Nintendo RSP.
I finally stepped down from my role as project coordinator in 2012, and soon a
fter tapered my involvement in嗰AME. Music and parenting had become too much o
f a time demand, and besides, 15 years is a pretty good run!
