要看哪句。如果then後面是動詞，就不要在then前加逗點。
不過有個例外，就是祈使句，像Mix...那句是可以加逗點的。
看以下的句子會比較清楚：
He prepares the dough and then lets it sit for 3 hours. 這個可以
He prepares the dough, and then lets it sit for 3 hours. 這個不行

你如果想問原因，那就是第二句後面的句子就沒了主詞。但很妙的的是，唸起來，聽的人絕對不會說第2句有問題。

所以要在兩個獨立子句時候，中間連接詞前面才能加逗號囉？另外，我覺得前一篇的四個句子，每一句都是祈使句...

進一步說明，如果and兩邊是連貫2個祈使句，那可以加逗點。如果只有一邊，就不行。重點在於：兩邊如果共用主詞就絕不可加逗點。2邊共主詞時，主詞一定出現在前面的句子，如在and前加逗點，那後面的動詞就會沒有主詞。
