在OALD9中看到這樣的解釋；
mood

英文的所有格使用方式比起中文的"XX的YY"限縮不少主要都是ownership或membership的關係才會用所有格指稱特定動詞的用法可能可以用 但這邊是整個動詞範籌

這個好像真的沒為什麼。就把verb use當成像是複合名詞一樣的東西吧不過你可以留意一下，一般英文中的所有格如果是抽象概念或無機物通常是不能寫成's這種形式的(也就是說你可能可以把上面那句改成的use of verb，但寫成's則很奇怪
