NPCs Notice Your Presence in Shadowlands Alpha
Blizzard has added a new feature to NPC animations in Shadowlands. When
walking near an NPC, most NPCs will now turn their head towards you in a
gesture of them acknowledging your presence.
This feature works with most NPCs, including ones from previous expansions.
This isn't the first time that we've seen this feature. Back in Warlords,
most of your followers in your Garrison looked and you and even /salute you
when you walked near them in the same manner. Note that this feature does not
work with every NPC, only those that have models that have supporting
animations in their heads.
Player characters also have a similar feature that was added in Legion. When
you target something within 20 yards of your character, you will notice that
your character will turn their head slightly in the target's direction.
