香港一輛2016年式的Tesla Model S在停車場自燃，當時車子並沒有在充電，它在停放半小時後自燃。
大樓警衛見狀立即通知消防隊，他們花了45分鐘順利滅火。

受害車主說，他先去supercharger超充站把車子充飽到97%的電量，
再將車子開回到大樓停車場停放。
車主表示，這輛2015年出廠的Model S 85kWh，它的電池最近曾經發生作動不正常的情形
(malfunctioned)，車主無法啟動引擎，
他有向原廠反映過此事，但他並沒料到車子會起火爆炸。

13th May 2019 – (Hong Kong) A Tesla Model S randomly burst into flame at the carpark of San Po Kong Plaza at 4.15pm yesterday after the owner parked his car for 30 minutes. Explosion from the vehicle alerted the security guard who immediately called the police.
Firefighters took 45 minutes to extinguish the fire and left the front of the vehicle badly damaged. The owner of the vehicle revealed that the battery malfunctioned recently and he did complain to Tesla about the issue but he didn’t expect the car to catch fire and explode.
The Tesla vehicle is a S 85 KWH DUAL POWER model manufactured in 2015. He charged his car yesterday to almost 97% capacity before parking his car at the car park of San Po Kong Plaza.
