很高興在新制 GMAT 拿掉 SC 之後還能看到相關的發問XD
平常翻譯案件和學術編修之餘前幾年開始也陸續編纂了自己的 SC 講義，
雖然這題我倒沒有遇過，但粗看不算太難，以下會嘗試詳盡提出各考點。
SC 的訓練不論是在學術或一般寫作上其實都很受用，最主要的兩件事情必須優先釐清：
（1）語意邏輯：這個句子真正想要表達什麼？包含但不限於主從、因果、讓步關係等
這邊可能會需要一些「基本」的考場外知識，但其實在 GMAT 訓練或者平常有習慣
涉獵各大外媒、主要以英文為知識學習與資訊接受語言的話，
個人覺得不需要特別惡補就是了。
以這題來說，合理的場外知識就是國會立法案不是只有唯一一個
（2）句意結構：用怎樣的方式來呈現語意邏輯的內容才是最貼切的？包含但不限於限定
或非限定修飾、句首句中句尾的分詞結構（特別是 Ving 形）、
平行結構（parallelism）等
題目：[Approved April 24, 1800, the act of Congress that made provision
for the removal of the government of the United States to
the new federal city, Washington, D.C., also established]
the Library of Congress.
中括號表示需調整之處
: 下面有敘述同一件事情的三種說法

: 我的理解是 A. 是錯的，因為 the act of Congress 這邊應該要用非限定用法，所以

感謝回覆，看來SC常常不只考文法，也考語意邏輯。但我好奇的是，有沒有可能在不考慮語意邏輯的狀況下，還可以選出正確答案? 以這個例子來說，在沒有意會到這個國會的立法案不是歷史上的唯一事件，以及事件一、二無存在因果關係(是平行結構)的狀況下，單就文法正確與否，似乎只可先刪去C，若再第二層考慮，看事件ㄧ、二是否存在因果關係，可進一步再刪去E，但是B與D我好像看不出來事件一、二有存在因果關係? 反而覺得是”was approved April 24...” 與 “to make provision for...” 才有存在因果關係? 這樣的的話，我目前似乎是無法在不考慮語意邏輯的狀況下，選出正確答案A...。
