Rays signed RHP Ernesto Frieri to a one-year, $800,000 contract.
Frieri could make as much as $3.15 million with incentives. The 29-year-old
is coming off a nightmare year in which he posted a 7.34 ERA over 48
appearances between the Angels and Pirates, but he has enjoyed great success
in the past. Known for their success with reclamation projects, the Rays will
attempt to strike gold once again.
