在第二冊的第十三章，記載著中世紀當時關於北歐的地圖與地理學記錄
包含阿拉伯世界的探險家、旅行者們，對北歐的敘述。
其中，第208頁記載著一位出身伊比利半島的地理學者

"Around it are small islands where the falcons are found. To the west lies
the island of white falcons, its length from west to east is about seven days
and its breadth about four days, and from it and from the small northern
islands are obtained the white falcons, which are brought from here to the
Sultan of Egypt, who pays from his treasury 1000 dinars for them, and if the
falcon arrives dead the reward is 500 dinars. And in their country is the
white bear, which goes out into the sea and swims and catches fish, and these
falcons seize what is left over by it, or what it has let alone. And on this
they live, since there are no [other] flying creatures there on account of
the severity of the frost. The skin of these bears is soft, and it is brought
to the Egyptian lands as a gift."
在它（丹麥）的周圍有許多小島，那裡可以找到「隼」。
其西方座落著「白隼之島」（註：冰島），由西到東的距離大約七天路程，寬度大約四
天路程，在這座島以及它北方的許多小島上，可以捕捉到白隼，牠們從這裡被帶給埃及
的蘇丹，蘇丹會為了牠們從他的財寶裡付出 1000 第納爾，如果這隻隼在抵達時死去，
報酬則是 500 第納爾。
在他們的國家有「白熊」，牠們會游泳出海、捕魚，這些隼會奪取牠們的食物或是牠們
吃剩下的。牠們（隼）依此生存，由於凜冽的冰霜，那裡沒有其它會飛翔的動物。
白熊的毛皮柔軟，被當成禮物帶到埃及去。

隼屬猛禽中體型最大的一種
體長可達65公分，翼展160公分，正是冰島的國鳥。
在中世紀當時顯然就已價值不斐，隨著貿易被帶到中東
敘述中的 1000 第納爾（dinars）換算成現在不知道價值多少？
感想：雖然知道當時北歐人生意做很大，做到中亞去了
實際上看到相關的記錄，還是覺得很有趣。
