請問遷戶口要怎麼說呢？
有查到 domicile 這個字
oxford online dictionary定義是：
The country that a person treats as their permanent home,
or lives in and has a substantial connection with

只是定義中又提到：
chiefly US A person’s residence or home
這樣好像就跟一般住處沒有分別...Orz
所以「遷戶口」以 change my domicile 適當嗎？
但好像還有分 domicile of origin （出生戶籍）
domicile of choice （自選戶籍）
還是直接說 change my permanant address 比較能被理解？

戶籍 household registration遷戶口/戶籍 照某戶政事務所網頁應該可寫成 change household register address比較操作型定義也許可以說 go to household registration office to change my address

"...很中文"-> 問題在於你的目的（要讓這個外國人聽懂的的）為何？ 如果你只是和一個（比如）美國人聊天（且"（你的）戶口"和他無關），那麼美國沒在搞「戶口」，所以他就只能從"字面"去理解你在講啥。除非他真的對這話題有興趣，不然的話一般是聽過就算(他沒興趣「聽懂」的話，你講再多他也只是覺得無趣)如果他是日本人，那麼我們的戶口本來就是沿用他們的，那麼直接"寫"即可:http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%88%B8%E7%B1%8D如果這事和他有關，比如這美國人是在台灣，老婆是台灣人，然後老婆說要去辦「戶口」，那麼看是老婆詳細「進一步」解釋這是啥回事，或是讓他讀相關的台灣法令(英文版):http://ppt.cc/kbUR

謝謝dunchee大，我是要跟外國人解釋為什麼罷免立委要遷戶口也知道戶口制度沿用日本。後來就用了永久地址更改來說明

原來是跟投票相關。老美雖然沒戶口但投票戶地址登記還是有的: voter [registration] address change較白話是 I need to change my address at Voter'sRegistration (或 Registrar of Voters)
