[文法] a lot of接單數可數名詞?

大家好,請教一下
There is not much difference between 'a lot of' and 'lots of': they are both
used mainly before singular uncountable and plural nouns, and before pronouns.
(Practical English Usage 3rd edition Point333.2)
PEU說a lot of後接單數不可數名詞、複數名詞、複數代名詞
(pronouns應該指是這個意思吧?)
(更新:我現在覺得pronouns應該是指各種代名詞,而非複數代名詞)
但我看到以下的句子:
A lot of the play is very funny.
'You'll find that everybody will try and help their colleague.' — 'Yeah.
There's a lot of that.'

A lot of it is just memorization.

PEU不是都說used "mainly" before... 了嗎?所以本來就不是used "always" before

你理解a lot of the play的方式錯了底下母語者的回答是對的。a lot of不見得是在說有很多某某事物,也可以被用來指單一事物中的一大部分(尤其當那個對象是可以被分割的時候(按比例切,不是按數量,不然後面的verb agreement會出問題

我沒有不耐,只是覺得你這樣學習太累了,但是,這很難改的我懂,就像我改不掉愛管閒事。

你知道There's a lot of後面也可以接可數名詞嗎?比a lot of 可數開頭這個我覺得更沒邏輯,但大家都習慣了A lot of可以解釋成sunny大說的「一大部分」,there's alot of往往就是指稱複數。外國老師說大家就講慣了
