這句話的翻譯在何毓文中譯的版本裡為:

這句話的翻譯我一直覺得怪怪的。
第一,Yet的語氣沒有翻出來。
Agreed; but the transition from the previous sentence, which is sarcastic,
is more complex than can be expressed in one phrase.
第二,I ask you not to spare me,not的否定應該是落在spare me上面。
Actually, this in more contemporary English would be "I don't ask you to spare
me." SVO not = S not VO; it's an older sentence structure.
Even if this were not the case, I would still disagree: In English, we often
see things like: not to = to not, try and = try to
第三,總覺得「我不求你...只求你...」的語氣跟整個語境不太搭。
Someone with life and sentience asking for his own demise seems stranger.
我的試譯為:
「不過我要你別饒過我,聽我說!然後,如果你有辦法毀掉我,如果你要這麼做的話,
再毀掉你親手的造物吧!」
My turn: 但我也不堅持要你放過我;你先聽我說;之後,如果你還能夠,如果你還願
